Slankamen Promenade: Danube Riverfront Revitalization

The project of a pontoon promenade with a lookout represents the expansion of tourist and recreational capacities in the coastal zone in Stari Slankamen. The goal of the project is to enrich the spatial and environmental qualities of the space, through connecting the settlements with the Danube and using the natural potentials of the river. The proposed solution is a linear structure that stretches between the marina “Mika Alas” and the special hospital “Dr Borivoje Gnjatić” and is mostly planned as a floating – pontoon platform.

The platform is designed as a promenade that follows the shoreline, with extensions to accommodate additional facilities: benches, canopies, exhibition space, space for various events, commercial facilities (stalls for sellers, etc.).
In addition to the floating part on the water surface, part of the promenade is located on the shore, including the lookout point, an elevated platform from which it is possible to see Slankamen and its surroundings.
